Message From Leadership
ManTech has recognized the importance of community support since its inception.
The core of our leadership principles is a strong commitment to corporate social
responsibility through ethical practices, taking care of our employees, and environmental
stewardship. By focusing internally on "green" initiatives and helping our customers meet
environmental directives for IT and lifecycle cost savings, we can maximize our
contribution to protecting the environment. Here is our environmental vision statement:

ManTech is committed to environmental stewardship as a responsible citizen and leader in the community. Our approach joins quality, innovation, and partnership to deliver a sustainable business solution that exceeds customer expectations while minimizing the impact of operations.
We will achieve our vision through these objectives:
Leadership: Combine social responsibility within ManTech and for our customers. ManTech will meet or exceed all applicable legal requirements for the environment and safety.
Efficiency: Achieve optimal value through operational productivity with employee education and facility improvements. Climate change is an issue that affects all of us - by working to save energy, we can reduce our carbon footprint and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Sustainability: Reduce environmental impact by proactively preventing pollution and reducing waste in our operations. ManTech believes that we can make a difference in our community through recycling paper, plastics, computers, and electronics.
The Human Resources, Chief Technology Officer, Facilities, and Marketing/Communications departments are leading the effort to support all of the great ideas already under way and also creating new undertakings. A ManTech Green Council with representation from across the business will work together to vet ideas and establish programs that the entire company can utilize to better our environment. And to answer the question, 'What can I do?,' take the initiative and send up your good ideas through your leadership. Together, we can make a difference.

- US Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) incorporation in to new and existing buildings
Accomplishments
- ManTech's new HR tool saves 190,281 pieces of paper a year which is equivalent to 155 trees, 2280 pounds of absorbed CO2 and 37,392 kilowatts of energy; enough to power the average American household for 3 years and 8 months.
- Saved customer an estimated $112k by using recycled fiberboard containers in 2008
- Moved truck fleet to bio-diesel
- Corporate IT Data Center has been consolidated through virtualization to save energy
Current Green Activities
- Monitoring and research on several endangered species on military ranges, including the western snowy plover, California least tern, California willow flycatcher, and the California red legged frog.
- Public Transportation benefits of $110 / month offered to employees.
- Recycling programs for paper and electronics at several facilities.
- Conducting review of sites for LEED environmental improvements.
