Our first projects in the information technology arena involved development of logistics management information systems for the U.S. Navy. Capacity Planning
The introduction of enterprise e-mail systems, groupware, web technologies and distributed applications force IT departments to continuously face problems caused by inadequate capacity and bandwidth planning. Companies are hard-pressed to optimize the performance potential of their existing investment or integrate and validate new technologies without triggering system failures. Web Server Analysis: ManTech develops profiles of generic workloads types for the categories of work to be processed on your Web server to support a cost-effective, growth-conscious solution for your web strategy.

By utilizing these best practices, ManTech has positioned itself as a proven leader in the development of complex modeling and simulation software. In recognition of ManTech's expertise, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) has charged ManTech with developmental responsibility for their Corporate Acquisition and Logistics Management Systems (CALMS) project. This program analyzes and documents asset lifecycle requirements and integrates separate and disparate procurement, asset tracking, and logistics management systems. These systems, integrating COTS, GOTS, and products developed specially for the DIA, resulted in the reduction of information duplication and labor intensiveness of asset lifecycle management, while increasing data accuracy availability and integrity, and achieving system certification and accreditation. User requirements for system functionality, architectural requirements, and interface requirements for data sharing between existing and newly developed applications were identified, analyzed, documented, and implemented.

Database Design & Maintenance

Access to your corporate data is critical to business operations in today's environment. But what constitutes a good database? Best practices suggest a database should adhere to the following principles:

Descriptive: The most user-friendly databases will have intuitively obvious naming conventions. These conventions allow more fluid communication between the data provider and data consumer (including application developers)

Flexible: Table and field names can be easily modified allowing convenient reutilization and standardization.

Efficient: Procedures for data access are properly coded and data is indexed to speed queries and reduce recall time.

Normalized: Data must be consistent in format and structure with minimal redundancy.

Secure: Data must be easily accessible to authorized personnel. There can be no room for doubts about data integrity.

ManTech Technologies has developed numerous databases for various Government customers and specializes in the design of customized user-friendly database tools. Many flavors of today's relational databases populate ManTech's repertoire, including Oracle, IBM DB2, as well as Microsoft's SQL Server and Access.

Geographical Information Systems (GIS)

ManTech currently supports Department of Defense (DoD), Federal agencies, and state clients under a variety of contracts. ManTech provides clients comprehensive GIS services including geospatial database development, spatial analysis, modeling and simulation, map and chart development, 3-D visualizations, and web-based mapping solutions.

For over a decade, ManTech has been providing GIS services in the areas of military test and training range planning, encroachment impact analysis, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) environmental planning, marine resource analysis, airspace and sonic boom studies, modeling and simulation, rocket launch support, hazardous material analysis, and risk assessment.

Modeling, Simuluation & Analysis

ManTech possesses both the infrastructure and expertise to respond to the full spectrum of Defense analysis needs, from physics and engineering based models supporting the technology base, through engagement simulations supporting weapons effects analysis and acquisition decision making, to force-on-force and campaign models supporting force integration, military value assessment, provisioning and budgeting decisions,. Our modeling and simulation experts are engaged in managing development of new Army standard force-on-force models to analyze manned and unmanned rotary aircraft, modernizing a campaign level model for the Air Force, modeling joint logistics process enhancements for the Joint Test and Evaluation program, and developing and implementing a new vulnerability analysis methodology for the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Munitions Effects.
